In Memory of Mike Pengelly
It is with deep regret that we advise that our Chairman Mike Pengelly passed away on 17th June. Mike was a Polperro fisherman who loved the harbour and dedicated nearly 40 years service as a Trustee. We will miss his knowledge, guidance and sense of humour.

Remembering Fay Cowan

The Trustees are saddened by the passing of Fay Cowan, our honorary President, whose lifelong support for the Harbour and its work will be fondly remembered.
Last week, we welcomed the annual visit from Trinity House for their inspection of the Polperro lighthouse and the navigation lamp at the harbour entrance.
Polperro’s fishing heritage is under pressure following the closure of the Plymouth wholesale fish market in 2024. The loss of a vital collection service left local vessels facing tough choices—but a new community-led solution is helping to keep the industry afloat.
