There are no set hours, but the Harbour Master must live locally. The role is supported by a Deputy Harbour Master and the Harbour Trustees.
Maritime experience is preferred, but training can be provided, and Olly will support the new Harbour Master in getting up to speed.
The most important requirements are a commitment to preserving the heritage of Polperro and ensuring that the harbour remains a safe place to work and visit. A thick skin can come in handy on occasion as well.
The Trustees have allocated £10,000 per annum as payment for this position.
If you are interested in the role, please email admin@polperro.com to receive the job description and arrange a follow-up discussion. The closing date for expressions of interest is 31 October 2025.
