One of South East Cornwall’s most beloved summer events is back – a full day of daft competitions, fancy dress, live music and harbour-side mayhem for all the family.

The Polperro Water Carnival has been a fixture of village life for decades, revived in 2017 after a long absence and going from strength to strength ever since. Set against the backdrop of one of Cornwall’s most beautiful fishing harbours, it’s a day that captures everything that makes this community so special — chaotic, cheerful and not to be missed.

Expect raft races on homemade crafts, sculling relays, the legendary Miller & Sweep, a three-legged pub crawl and much more. Fancy dress is encouraged — nautical themes always go down well. Admission is free, with donations welcome.
