A Warm Thank You as Partners Gather at Prince of Wales Pier

Partners and stakeholders came together this week to mark the completion of the Prince of Wales Pier, with a particular focus on thanking those involved in its delivery.

Representatives from Cornwall Council, the Environment Agency, and the project implementation team were invited to view the completed pier, followed by a luncheon at the Blue Peter. The occasion provided an opportunity to express thanks for the collective effort behind the scheme and to maintain the strong working relationships established throughout the project.

The project has been notable for its smooth delivery, having been completed on time and within budget. As part of the construction contract, a retention sum was held for one year to address any potential issues. With minimal defects identified, the final instalment was released this week, formally bringing the project to a close.

A planned celebratory flypast of Gloucestershire old spots was unfortunately cancelled due to high winds, though the event remained a fitting way to mark the occasion.
