Over the years Polperro Harbour has been used as a location for a number of films including Alfred Hitchcock's last silent movie The Manxman (1929). It has also played host to a number of other films throughout the 20th Century some of which you've probably not heard of and some which have somewhat tenuous links. Cornish Art Historian, David Tovey is researching the art of Polperro in preparation for his forthcoming books Polperro Artists and Authors Vol 1 pre-1920 and Vol 2 Post-1920 and a exhibition in the spring 2021 (3/4/21 – 12/6/21) featuring the many paintings by famous UK and international artists that David has accumulated which feature scenes in and around Polperro Harbour .
